New Year, New Kitchen

Grey Nebraska Kitchen
Christmas is in four days and with the New Year fast approaching too, now is the time to start getting a plan of action together for 2016. Sure, we all have our New Year Resolutions embedded on our minds to eating healthier, get fit, be more organised and how ever more ‘goals’ you can think of, but what about simply doing what we really want to do.

Our house is our home and we want to come home every evening to a space we feel comfortable with and that we are happy to invite friends and family around to at the drop of a hat. However for some of us we don’t believe we can do this, because we simply are not happy with the way some of the rooms look.

Now is the time to start planning and prepping for the New Year and getting a plan of action together to sort your space out once and for all! The kitchen is always known as one of the most sociable rooms in the house; chatting away with a drink as you cook up the family’s next delicious meal. Depending on the size of your kitchen, it’s also a space for the kids to sit and does their homework as you help out whilst cracking on with tasks of your own.

Although this time of year is not great timing to get the kitchen fitters in Llandudno around, it’s still a great time to book them and consult with your kitchen designer to see exactly how much work needs to be done to achieve the vision you have. In order to get you started, we have listed a few things below you should consider when creating a plan for your new or refurbished kitchen:

  1. Budget. Do you have a price in mind? If so, make sure it is realistic to be able to give you what you need in your kitchen. Will it cover the costs of materials, appliances and accessories? If you require them, will it also cover the costs of installation?
  2. Colour scheme. If you have a colour scheme in mind for your walls, tiles and accessories, make sure the worktops and cupboard doors match. They don’t need to be the same colour, but they need to be complimentary towards one another.
  3. Installation. Do you feel confident to install the kitchen yourself? Or perhaps you have a team of friends and family who are good at D.I.Y? Either way, decide how much you can do yourself and decide later on if you need to get the professionals in. This could save you time and money either way, so be sure to decide from the beginning to ensure you book a team in fast!
